Girls, the other day we talked about studying overseas, in some of those good universities. And I remember one of you asked why is it better.
Well, mummy and daddy studied in local university. And it’s quite hard for me to explain to you now.
But let me share this with you this. Come and read it again when you are older, and may be by that time, you are able to comprehend why.
I like this sharing by Ajahn Brahm about “Living Meaningfully and Dying Joyfully” http://www.dhammatalks.net/Books6/Ajahn_Brahm_Living_Meaningfully_Dying_Joyfully.htm (thanks SC for sharing this with me)
It’s quite long, but worth reading.
I like the story he told about pursuing happiness.
That is what happens when we simply believe others, rather than seeing the truth for ourselves. If you live your life pursuing possessions, accumulating attachments, even hurrying after heaven – you will discover that you are not living meaningfully.
I burst out laughing when reading the line “When I die, then I’ll be happy”. hahaha… Ya, instead of saying 活在当下, I should say ＂乐＂在当下.
